Graduate School Graduations

  • Anna Boyd ’17 completed a master’s degree in applied learning and instruction with a concentration in literacy from the University of South Carolina-Upstate in December 2024.
  • Caitlyn Caffee ’21 completed a doctorate in occupational therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in December 2024.
  • Paige Desmond ’19 completed a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of South Alabama in December 2024.
  • Ellyce Lascano ’22 completed a master’s degree in sports management from Troy University in December 2024.
  • Koby Townsend ’21 completed a master’s degree in business administration from the University of West Florida in December 2024.
  • Jimbo Turk ‘15 completed a master’s degree in educational leadership from University of West Florida in December 2024.

Retirements/Promotions/Honors/General News

  • Austin Armstrong ’15 was named the Defensive Coordinator for the University of Houston football program.
  • Jim Arrington ’72 and former Huntingdon Head Coach and Athletic Director Buzz Phillips were inducted into the Alabama Independent Schools Association Hall of Fame in December 2024.
  • Miles Barnhardt ’18 has been named Director of Student Ministries at Fairhope United Methodist Church.
  • Sam Havel Blanquiset ’14 was inducted into the Foley High School Athletic Hall of Fame in September 2024.
  • Luv Bartlett Dubose ’12 has been named Director of Youth Ministry at Wesley Church in Montgomery.
  • Ashley Dobbs Hubbard, in December 2024, took on the new role of Missioner for Ministry Development in the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota. Ashley was previously the Canon for Formation in the Diocese of South Dakota.
  • Beth Jackson Hughes ’82 retired in December 2024 from the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.
  • Kirk Johnson ’12 was named the 5A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Football Coaches Association. He is the fastest coach in Alabama to reach 50 wins and led his team to back-to-back state championships in December 2024.
  • Garrett Kull ’18 has been named the head women’s soccer coach at the University of Texas-Permian Basin.
  • Blake Mayes ’19 has been named Director of Youth Ministry at Montgomery First United Methodist Church.
  • Michele Scharff Olson was interviewed by Peleton for her research and published works in their Pilates Method of exercise in March 2024 for a blog on barre for beginners article and by Best Life for her research in core exercise in November 2024 for an online article for best moves for sculpted abs.
  • John Racine ’85 and Tonja Waddle Racine ’87 celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in September 2024.  John recently started a new position at CACI.
  • Lauren Lugen Worley ’16 was nominated for the Program Advocate of the Year award at Faulkner University by the Physician Assistant Class of 2024.
  • Will Wright ’15 was named the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Jacksonville State University football program.

  • Rodger Armstrong ’07 passed away on November 22, 2024, in Warrior, Alabama.
  • William Earl Crutchfield ’66 passed away on December 18, 2024, in Opelika, Alabama. We extend our condolences to his wife, Ann Ragan Crutchfield ’65.
  • James Richard Giermnanski, former Huntingdon professor, passed away on November 27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan.
  • Patricia DeLoach Godwin ’70 passed away on December 9, 2024, in Pensacola, Florida.
  • Ann Harvey James ’53 passed away on December 18, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Karla Stringfellow Johnson ’63 passed away on December 16, 2024, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
  • Juletta Graham Quarles ’71 passed away on December 9, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama.
